Testing of micronized praziquantel and albendazole dosage forms against bothriocephalosis of cyprinids

The purpose of the research is to develop and test new dosage forms against bothriocephalosis cyprinids. Materials methods . study was performed in experimental therapy laboratory VNIIP – FSC VIEV, on a cage fish farm Cherepetsky Rybkhoz JSC (Suvorov, Tula Region). A formulation developed for two micronized albendazole praziquantel prevent treat cestodosis fish, namely, praziquantel. For experiments drugs cyprinids, medicated feeds were using special technology with added hot water beet molasses. Each feed contained 2% praziquantel- albendazole-based form. To determine infection cestodes, carp yearlings studied at JSC. Clinical examination pathoanatomical dissection conducted selectively common method, after which prevalence intensity Bothriocephalus sp. determined fish. given rate 5% weight trays, put into feeders installed bottom trays. first group received food albendazole, second, doses 25 30 mg/kg active substance, respectively. effectiveness batches recorded by results helminthological all control day 4 therapeutic feeding. Results discussion Preliminary tests showed 58.3% extense-effectiveness 61.9% intense-effectiveness, 75.0% 88.1% intense-effectiveness when applied once dose (doses AS, respectively).

We investigated the minimum exposure times of prazicuantel (PZQ) and albendazole sulfoxide (ABZSO) required for their activities against Taenia cysts in vitro as well as the 50 and 99% effective concentrations.
